Key Ingredients & Their Benefits
-
Tretinoin (0.1%): A potent retinoid (vitamin A derivative) that accelerates cell turnover, helps clear acne, smooths skin texture, and can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Propylene Glycol: Enhances hydration and helps the gel spread easily across the skin.
-
PEG-4 Olivate & PEG-7 Olive Oil Esters: Provide an emollient, olive-derived base that makes the gel feel more moisturising and less drying than alcohol-based tretinoin formulations.
-
Carbomer & Triethanolamine: These help give the product its gel texture and maintain a stable pH.
-
Preservatives (Methyl / Propyl Hydroxybenzoate): Prevents microbial growth and ensures product stability.
Product Features & Usage
-
High-strength retinoid: 0.1% is one of the stronger tretinoin concentrations, making it effective for more persistent acne or skin renewal.
-
Gel formulation: This A-Ret version uses a hydrating, slightly oilier base, which many users find more tolerable than harsher gels.
-
Improves skin renewal: Encourages shedding of dead skin cells, which helps with acne, hyperpigmentation, and rough texture.
-
Prescription-strength: Usually prescribed, so best to use under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
How to Use
-
Use at night on clean, dry skin. Wait a few minutes after washing before applying.
-
Apply a pea-sized amount (or thin layer) to the treatment area.
-
If new to tretinoin, start slowly (e.g., every other night) to allow your skin to adjust.
-
Follow with a moisturiser once the gel has dried to help manage irritation.
-
In the morning, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen, as tretinoin increases sun sensitivity.
